Employees which are operating in sectors that are critically suffering the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic or were ordered by the Superintendent of Public Health to temporarily suspend operations will be entitled to the following wage supplements:
Full-time employees Self-employed | 5 days’ salary based on a monthly wage of €800 |
Part-time employees | up to €500 per month |
These will be paid to the employer and NOT the employees.
Sectors eligible for this benefit:
- Wholesale (not all)
- Retail (not all)
- Transport
- Accommodation
- Food & beverage service activities
- Renting & leasing of motor vehicles
- Employment activities
- Travel agency, tour operator & other reservation services & related services
- Security & investigation services
- Services to buildings
- Creative, arts & entertainment services
- Personal service (ex: hairdressing, beauty treatment, etc.)

Part-time employees | 1 day’s salary per week, equivalent to €100 per month |
Self-employed who have employees | 2 days’ salary per week, equivalent to €320 per month |
In the case of such enterprises based in Gozo:
Full-time employees Self-employed (without employees) | 2 days’ salary per week, equivalent to €320 per month |
Part-time employees | 2 days’ salary per week, equivalent to €200 per month |
Self-employed who employ staff | 3 days’ salary per week, equivalent to €480 per month |

- Warehousing
